SUNY Canton Sportsman Series Announces Prizes
and Lap Sponsorship
SUNY Canton along with FX Caprara Car Companies presents Fun-4-Fans
Events with the SUNY Canton Sportsman Series. Recently announced, the
SUNY Canton Sportsman Series offers a 4 race event series to Sportsman
drivers, with a separate point system and more opportunities to help
the Sportsman drivers in the area.
“I want to thank SUNY Canton for all there support for everything they
have done to help promote local racing in are area,” commented Chip
Burdick. “This was a fun series that SUNY Canton and FX Caprara Car
Companies wanted to put on in hopes of helping out Sportsman drivers
and giving guys more opportunities to win more and to help out their
racing programs. I hope that there are students out there that will
someday take advantage of the Motorsports classes that SUNY Canton has
to offer for college students such as two and four year degrees in
everything from automotive, engineering, nursing, healthcare to
business and liberal arts.”
The SUNY Canton Sportsman Series will begin at Caprara’s Thunder Alley
Speed Park on Friday, July 11, 2008 . Thunder Alley will host another
Sportsman Series event on September 5, 2008 . The other two events
will be hosted at Caprara’s Can-Am Motorsports Park on Saturday,
September 6th and Saturday, September 13th. All events are $800 to win
with additional money added to the purse. Laps are now on sale for
each of the four events. For $40 a person can sponsor one lap in each
of the four events. The minimum amount to sponsor is $40, while people
are welcomed to give more for the laps in which they sponsor. This
will cover any race with laps 1 through 25, for the two events in
which there are 30 lap feature events, then laps 26 through 30 are $20
each to sponsor. Those wishing to purchase laps can do so by

night.
Also on tap will be a prize package where on the final night of the
series, drivers in the top ten in points will enter a dash. The winner
of the dash will be able to claim the following prizes. A Fugi Camera
($200 value), four cases of Pepsi Products ($40 value), four cases of
Coke Products ($40 value), Lands End SUNY Canton travel bag ($50
value), Lands End SUNY Canton jacket ($60 value), Duffle bag ($20
value), Four PS-2 and X Box Games ($100 value), four boxes of full
size candy bars ($75 value), 3 dozen custom made t-shirts of your
design from Victory Promotions ($300 value), 11x14 framed photo of
dash for prize winner from Turn4Photo.com ($20 value), $50 gift
certificate for Jreck Subs ($50 value), four cases of bottle water
from Frontenac Springs ($40 value), One year subscription to Gater
Racing News and 4 tickets to the 2009 Motorsports Expo courtesy of
Gater Racing News ($70 value) which means a driver can take home
$1,110 in prizes and this is just the beginning!
The final points champion for the SUNY Canton Sportsman Series will
receive a guaranteed position in the Mr. DIRT Sportsman Series Event
at Caprara’s Can-Am on Wednesday, October 8th along with a 2009 Season
Pit Pass to Caprara’s Can-Am Motorsports Park and Caprara’s Thunder
Alley Speed Parks . FX Caprara Car Companies is also putting up a
$1,000 bonus to any driver that can win three out of the four events.
